YUKON, NORTHWEST TERRITORIES

AND NUNAVUT

ULTRA-PROMINENCES

35 Peaks with Prominence of 1,500 meters or greater

Compiled by Robin Tivy, Fred Touche,
Aaron Maizlish and Jonathan de Ferranti.

List can also be found at bivouac.com with more information on the individual peaks.

THIS PAGE SHOULD BE REGARDED AS PRELIMINARY DATA.  All of these peaks are North of 60ºN, the northern extent of the SRTM data.  Data has been derived from a combination of DEM Analysis and map work.  Prominence data for the non-island highpoints in Nunavut should be regarded as provisional, with an approximate error range of ±100 meters.  The Nunavut data was derived from 1:250,000 maps and their associated DEM data. Anyone with access to 50K mapping, particularly of Baffin Island's rugged NE coastline, should be able to improve its accuracy.   Yukon data was derived from 1:50,000 topographic mapping.
